The Gavin Chronicles, September 13, 2007

Hello Everyone-

WOW!!! What a great day it has been. Gavin is starting to get back to his ole self again and we could not be happier.

They have taken him off of all blood pressure medication. His ventilator settings are down and they will be taking him off of the oscillating vent today an putting him back on a conventional vent. They plan to start feeding him again on Monday or Tuesday of next week.....keep in mind yesterday we were told 10-14 days before feeds would even be considered. The doctor said he would be ready to come off of the vent next week however, she wanted to leave him on it so that she could establish feeds and get him going so he can get transferred sooner. She wants to see him grow now and feeding is important to that. Gavin weighed in at 1lb 4oz last night but may lose some tonight that he was retaining in fluid. He is having a great day and his belly really is starting to look remarkably better.

I am including some photos from today....I had to take a picture of Colin because seriously, the week has caught up to him and he looks like he has been hit by a Mack truck. He can hardly function today and I am sure it simply because the adrenaline from the week has worn off.....it hasn't hit me yet but I am certain it is coming.

Thanks for all of your continued love and support. We appreciate it and thank God for it each and every day. Please continue with the prayers as we all know how strong the power of prayer is.

I will update tomorrow with more pictures hopefully.....
