Good Evening-
Weekend....(I know better late than never) greetings from our family to yours.
Gavin has been home now since Tuesday and life is GOOD. We are settling into a routine.....well it seems routine.....all bets are off when daddy goes back to work tomorrow. Gavin is such a good baby. He is so mellow and just a laid back kid. He rarely cries.....as a matter of fact I am not sure he has cried at all since he has been home. Ian and Brooke are just adorable with him. They love to check on him a bazillion times a day. Ian has it in his head that he cannot go to school unless Gavin is awake to greet him prior to his departure......mommy says....never wake a sleeping baby....Ian has other theories on that plan.
We had our first appointment with our pediatrician on Friday. He was amazed at how incredible Gavin looked for having been so premature and so small at birth. He reminded us of what a miracle he is...... We will be continuing on the meds Gavin was on in the hospital and monitoring his blood levels to eventually work on weaning off of some of them. So far the med administration hasn't gone too bad now that we have figured out the groove of it.
Gavin is still on 24 calorie formula and will stay there because he needs to grow. He is eating like a champ and is working on increasing his volume.....thus evidenced by several 3oz feedings today. We will monitor his weight gain weekly.
We gave him his first bath at home the other day. He really does like his "spa" time. He had several nurses who spoiled him rotten in the nursery so he loves to get the whole treatment. You can see in the photo below just how much he likes his bath.
Well it's late and I am sure that the middle of the night will come sooner than later so I best sign off. I wanted to send a brief update with some pictures for all of you.
Thanks again for your continued prayers and support. We are convinced that we definitely have the best group of friends that anyone could ask for.
