The Gavin Chronicles, January 1, 2008

If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, "move from here to there," and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
Matthew 17:20

Happy New Year!

2007 was a unique year for us. It was a year that presented us with challenges and excitement all in one. Somewhat a year of new beginnings so to say. We hope that each and every one of you finds 2008 off to a great start and that you receive all the blessings you deserve in the coming months.

Gavin continues to do very well after his surgery. His wound is healing nicely and looking better every day. He is really into the pooping business these days. He is on full feeds and on most days he takes more than his recommended amount of food. Currently he is on 24 calorie premature formula and gaining weight nicely and now weighs in at 4lb 14oz. Soon, he will be 5lbs.

Gavin continues to be on oxygen and will come home with it when he is discharged. He is not on hardly much more than a whif but it is enough at our elevation to help him out during the cold winter months.

Gavin's discharge is in the future. We are not sure of a date as of yet but it will be in the coming weeks for sure. We are excited and scared all at the same time. There were days that we never thought we would see discharge day and here we are.....I think the reality of a 3rd child will settle in long about the time we no longer get any sleep at night. The kids are excited for him to come home and ask about it in anticipation every day.

The Lord has truly blessed us in many ways over the past months. We are so thankful for all of you who continue to keep us in your prayers and daily thoughts. We are thankful for such a wonderful hospital staff who truly love Gavin and have given him the best start possible. Without all of you we are not sure how we would have made it some days.

I have included a few new pictures from Gavin's outting and from Christmas as well.....we will keep you posted with news as we have it....
